B2B Partner finder and partner business profile

We increased the charging connection rate by 35% with creating the new feature— a Business CPO Partner Finder and Profile Page. This feature accelerated the network expansion task for EMP partners, making it significantly faster and easier to find and connect with relevant business partners.

Hubject provides the largest EV-charging network platform, enabling CPOs (Charging points operators) and EMPs (B2C E-Mobility providers) to create long-lasting business and technical connections for seamless electric charging experience for end EV drivers customers.

New CPO finder

The product before

EMP partners can technically connect to CPO partners' charging station networks by subscribing to their contracts on the eRoaming Hubject platform, to enable seamless charging for their end EV drivers. They do so by accessing the list of available contracts published publicly on the platform.

Business goal and the problem

Business requirement: increase charging transactions made via the platform.

The problem leading our research was What are the current challenges or blockers that prevent EMP partners from expanding their charging network with CPO partners, and how could our product help them?

We assumed that increasing the number of contracts partners made to expand their charging network, will eventually increase the number of charging transactions.

We interviewed EMP partners to understand what they are looking for when expanding their network, and how to improve the product to answer their needs.

Users need more in-platform information

The discovery phase taught us that each EMP has a business strategy aligned with its target EV drivers.

Since expanding the charging network is a major task, we concluded that we should enable EMP partners a suitable search engine and more detailed information on the CPO partners they'd like to connect with.

Design sprint to solution

The next step was to explore the ideal B2B marketplaced search flow our business case.
During a 2-day design sprint, we have iterated on search practices that fit out product constraints, and generated a flow prototype we have tested with EMP partners.

Solution - Custom search and filtering

Our solution is a 'CPO Finder' search engine and a CPO partner profile view.
Now, EMP users can view all available CPO partners in one place, and search for the right partners fitting their needs using metadata based filtering.

Due to the agile approach, we had to reduce many functions proposed during the iteration process - such as map view, direct communication within the platform, and favorite CPO list - and reduce the product to MVP level.

The second level of the partner finder is a detailed page with all available data on the selected CPO.
Information is prioritized by importance mentioned by users during the research phase.

To encourage connection forming, the CPO profile page has links to active, new, and past contracts the EMP user has in common with the CPO.
In addition, to speed up the connection process, different contact cards are available with a direct email CTA.

The outcome

The solution we implemented had a significant positive impact on both the business and user experience. We successfully achieved our business goals by increasong the charging transactions rate by 65%, which directly contributed to our users' success.

Users feedback to the prototype testing was positive, appreciating the impact on their daily work, while raising valuable feedback and suggestions for improvement we are considering for future iterations.
